This historic coaching Inn, known locally as the Crooked House, is claimed to date from 1460, although the building itself is 16th Century with later additions. It was at one time East Molesey’s first post office. The 18th century highwayman Claude Duvalier hid from the Bow Street Runners here. The naval officer atop the weathervane looking through his spyglass for customers, originally stood on the parish church looking for the congregation.
