Ash Bar in Royal Highland Hotel does not sell real ale (yet) but is included so as to include all the licensed premises in the Highlands & Western Isles Branch Area. The staircase leading off to the rooms from the reception area has a massive claim to fame. It was the inspiration on which "the" staircase on Titanic was based and was used to accurately reproduce the one used in the film.
