An old pub, dating back to at least 1799, the Royal Oak is situated at the top of Sowerby Street (hence its nickname of "Top o' the street"). It is a roadside pub and upon entering, the L shaped bar is in front of you, The single room is divided in two, with a pool table and real fire with original fireplace to the right, and sports TV and karaoke facilities to the left. The bar has a total of three taps, one of which serves a changing beer. There is a pub garden to the rear of the pub.
