A busy shopping-street pub popular with a wide range of customers, with TV screens catering for sports lovers. There is a standing area, seating opposite the bar, and a raised lounge area that was once a separate shop. The one cask ale sells well, especially as 'smooth' is not sold. Buses from Halifax towards Sowerby Bridge and Hebden Bridge stop outside the door. Benches are provided to the rear of the pub for smokers and drinkers. Lunches are served Monday to Friday.
