Meandering Bear

Located close to Halifax Piece Hall and Westgate Arcade, in central Halifax, this modern and tastefully decorated micropub opened in September 2019. Its name is derived from a large grizzly bear which escaped from the former Halifax Zoo in June 1913 and then meandered around Halifax before being caught. The classy room is split level and incorporates comfortable seating with the bar being located at the back of the room on a higher level. Five beers are provided on handpull, there are five keg lines and locally sourced/made bar food.
