A handsome stone building at the western end of beautiful Nidderdale. An unusual panelled entrance corridor leads to a traditionally furnished, comfortable bar with a dining room beyond. Local pictures, maps and lots of brassware decorating the walls. An open fire blazes in the bar to warm your bones after winter walking in the surrounding area of outstanding natural beauty. There is also a rack of walking sticks for sale if required. Note there is no cellphone coverage inside the pub. Real ales come from Masham just over the hills along a narrow road offering some of the finest views of Nidderdale, Wensleydale and across the North York Moors and Cleveland Hills. A third local ale from Hetton near Skipton is also served.
