Located above junction 25 on the M62 motorway, this old inn was created from three mid-16th century cottages and is partly listed. lt's now a popular pub and restaurant that's well known for its high quality food, the adjoining hotel being under separate ownership. The two front rooms, with their low ceilings and old fireplaces, have been partially opened out to the bar; one is used for diners, the other is intended for drinkers, although you can eat in any part of the pub. The bar, with its high ceiling, is decorated with photographs of 'stars' that have stayed at the pub, mainly from the days of the Batley Variety Club. A door from the bar leads to a further dining room, which was once a walled garden, and also to the enclosed beer garden that's used today. A function room is available.
