A friendly family run, street corner local tucked away in a leafy residential area down a very narrow road. The public bar is popular with locals and visitors alike and good conversation is the order of the day. Board games are also available for entertainment. Very unusual and welcome choice of real ales for the area is guaranteed on every visit, which has helped to pub win the local CAMRA Branch Pub of the Year award in 2020. There are four constantly changing guest ales sourced from all around the country normally including a dark beer. There are also two real ciders and numerous key keg beers available, all from independent producers. Beers currently on tap and coming soon are displayed on a blackboard. There is an excellent choice of home made meals some evenings and Sunday lunch (booking advisable) all prepared on site using locally-sourced ingredients. The pub holds two very popular beer festivals every year (Easter weekend and last week of October) usually with a themed selection of beers and other events, such as charity quiz nights, throughout the year.
