Red Lion

This historic town pub was formed from several old properties including the mayor's residence and the courthouse; the cellars used to house prisoners. Once a Good Beer Guide stalwart and former CAMRA Branch Pub of the Year, the pub struggled for a number of years. In January 2017 the pub was taken over by Q Bars & Restaurants Ltd, it was refurbished following a fire in September 2020. There is live music every Thursday evening and some Saturdays. There is also a monthly comedy night on the 3rd Tuesday. Food is served every day.
