This is a proper pub with a very traditional feel to it. There are two real fires, one at either end of the main bar area. There is a separate public bar, available for hire. Food is served daily, 12-2, but on a Sunday it's Sunday lunch from 12-2.30. At the rear of the pub there is a raised sun trap garden with plenty of seating and pots of flowers appealingly scattered about. They occasionally have live music, which is advertised on the premises. The August Bank Holiday Beer Festival is a regular event.
