Fullers and associated brand beers and guests from Fullers list are available in this 16th century village inn. Situated opposite Jane Austen's house it has been Chawton's pub since the time of the Spanish Armada. The restaurant area offers traditional English classics made from fresh ingredients. There is a large secluded garden with an extensive seating area plus "Chawton Village Library", a charity bookshop situated within the additional (working) outside lavatory. Within reasonable walking distance from Alton and from late 2019 pedestrian access eased by the Butts Bridge improvements.
