Pretty, whitewashed, recently refurbished 17th-century cottage inn, in old Roman village. The pub has two elegant bars. This lively, friendly local attracts people from miles around to sample its ales and its imaginative, freshly-cooked meals. The reasonably priced menu can contain game terrine with onion marmalade and salmon and dill fishcakes with caper mayonnaise (no food Sunday evening). The dining area has a magnificent open fireplace with a log fire. The pub has a patio garden with stunning views over a typical Cotswold valley.
