Impressive Wetherspoon conversion of the former Savoy cinema and named after the man who designed it. Many original features have been retained and restored. The former ticket office leads to the bar and you can carry your drink past the area upstairs where the screen used to be to a small beer garden at the rear. Several different beers are available from both local and national breweries. The pub is watched over by old movie goers sitting in the balcony.
