Large Lloyd’s No 1 bar in the city centre, attracting a diverse clientele. There are six handpumps, dispensing two regular and up to four guest beers, often higher strength ales which suit the taste of the daytime regulars. As well as the biannual Wetherspoon’s beer festivals, the pub has held mini-festivals showcasing particular breweries and staff are receptive to beer suggestions. At night time the pub is frequented by a younger crowd, accompanied by loudish music.
