Auld Hoose

Interesting high-ceilinged and friendly traditional Scottish drinking shop, tastefully updated, with bare floorboards around a mahogany bar, carpeted areas and a welcoming atmosphere enhanced by a real fire in winter. The gantry has four carved pillars and supports six old numbered whisky casks. The through lounge has varied seating, a pool table and pictures of sporting heroes. Built in 1896 and said to be the oldest pub in town, it is certainly the closest to the sea, and supports the RNLI. Sadly, the two windows shown were vandalised and have been replaced by good reproductions.
