A three-roomed hostelry dating from 1830 and close to the racecourse. Expect to find some interesting real ales from smaller, mainly Scottish, breweries. The lively, cheerfully decorated public bar is half-timber panelled and carpeted. Dominoes is regularly played and the TV often shows sporting events. A smaller area leads off, with a dartboard and pictures of old local industries. The pleasant lounge, where familes are welcome until 8pm, has a hardwood floor and comfortable seating.
NOTE: Despite what is shown in the 2020 CAMRA Good Beer Guide this pub does NOT use return trays (aka Autovacs / Economisers)
