SEPTEMBER 2019 - Opening on the 19th. Details to be updated soon. One handpump selling real ale. JAN 2019 - Currently closed for major refurbishment. It is said that Star Pubs are going to spend £350K to turn this into a stylish bar offering food. Expected to be renamed "The Broughton". Modern, spartan but colourful interior on two levels. The lower area is dominated by a huge TV screen which is devoted to every kind of sport. A range of old Edinburgh prints on the central wall helps to add diversity to the atmosphere but the clientele is generally more interested in what’s showing on the TV. There is a separate downstairs bar which is used as a venue for Festival Fringe events. Children are admitted until 8pm.
