A large, three floored, multi-roomed pub built on the site of a 16th century inn. Upstairs is the condemned cell door from the old tollbooth. The large beer garden has great views up to the castle. Meals are served all day. On Friday and Saturday evenings there is a lively atmosphere with a DJ providing music. The real ales have a Scottish bias with three sourced from Belhaven/Greene King. Although not family oriented, children are allowed until 8pm if eating.
