Closed for complete refurbishment in 2013, it re-opened in October of that year when it became part of the Metropolitan Pub Co range of Greene King and serving a more varied cask ale range. Work included reinstating a large glass atrium from the 19th century. prior to this it had been a music pub with live bands. Greene king badged house beer as Stay and Griffin along with four guest beers are available, usually including local brews. There is a large dining area with an open-plan kitchen and gets very busy at lunchtimes and early evening.
