Unusual five-storey postwar building with some art deco lines and a modern ground floor frontage. Not big inside with Industrial decor, visible kitchen at rear, modern art and a real mix of chairs & tables including formica. Relaxed atmosphere, 30s predominate, some ethnic mix, female-friendly. Keg Brewers Union Steph Weiss, Camden Hells and Ink, Freedom Dark Lager, Fuller Wild River, London Fields Hackney Hopster and one other, Meantime Yakima Red. Forty bottled beers, including Beavertown, By the Horns, Camden, Crate, Hackney, Kernel, London Fields, Pressure Drop, Redchurch, Thornbridge. Thirty-nine wines by the glass. Cocktails. Over thirty gins & tonics. Cappucino machine, using London-roasted coffee. Short menu, five mains mostly £10-14, plus smaller plates. Converted commercial building. A separate unit from the former Barley Mow at #50. In the late 1990s this was Can, selling only canned beers. Renamed c.2000 as Stream (bar), closed some time later in the decade, serving as a noodle café and as a shop. Reopened again Dec 2013 as Kench & Bibsey (cocktail bar). Flooded March 2014, changed hands and reopened in May under new name
