Queens Head

Opening hours

A Grade II listed building, situated in a conservation area. Retains its traditional subdivision into public bar and saloon bar. There is a small outdoor yard for smokers and the exterior is usually adorned with splendid hanging baskets. The smaller saloon bar features two dart boards and plays host to regular comedy nights. The pub freehold was sold by Tower Hamlets Council in 2013 to raise funds for the Council. Acquired as a free house in 2018 and refurbished in a modern style. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother visited the pub in 1987 and was photographed pulling a pint of Young's. There are various pictures, plaques and other memorabilia celebrating Her Majesty's visit, including a framed letter from Clarence House displayed by the bar counter.
