Very close to the town centre, the pub is a busy free house owned and run by some of its locals. Music is very much the theme with an extensive juke box collection of classic numbers, and it's common for spontaneous dancing and singing to add to the friendly and lively atmosphere. It has active darts and dominoes teams, a large single lounge bar where there's regular live open mic music on Wednesday evenings. Four reasonably priced real ales from local, regional and national breweries and a cider, along with cobs and pork pies. Level access through the side gate on request (otherwise kept locked) and level throughout. No adapted WCs.
