Following a recent extensive refurbishment the Volunteer Arms is very much open for business. Very shiny and new (for the oldest pub in the town) but has managed to retain the charm which comes from a well kept, clean and very tidy pub. It offers a range of Cask Marque approved real ales together with a full range of lagers ciders and other ales all kept to a high standard. To complement these there are also regular offers on wines and bottled lagers & ciders. We offer a dog friendly environment, open hearth coal fires, a full range of snacks and there is ample adjacent street and off road parking. We have Sky Sports with two TVs and a Pool Table in the refurbished bar area, operate darts and quiz teams and plan to run a pool team and other activities in the near future.
