Set in the centre of a picturesque village on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and at the start of the long-distance Lyke Wake Walk, this old inn is popular with hikers, casual visitors and locals. Much of the focus is on high quality locally-sourced food but drinkers are always made welcome and the view from the outside drinking tables makes them popular on fine days. Regularly changing beers are from local breweries and there is a beer festival each November. Dogs are welcome with well-behaved owners.
