A proper drinking pub and friendly local on the village green in the old part of Doggy (the village's local nickname). It has sold real ale for more than 40 years and usually offers at least one local beer among its three guests. The pub is home to darts and dominoes clubs and hosts a well-attended Thursday night quiz. There are good views towards the Wear valley and Durham city.
