Immaculately run but welcoming traditional village inn in an idyllic former lead-mining village near the head of Swaledale. Popular with walkers, cyclists and other visitors, who are often tackling the nearby Coast-to-Coast and Pennine Way routes. The stone-flagged, much-wooded bar is warmed by an open fire and has a cabinet of breweriana. Local ales regularly include brews from Yorkshire Dales and Wensleydale.
In current situation, worth contacting beforehand to check opening times.
