Smart two-room 17th Century inn with a focus on food, owned by the same people as the CB at nearby Langthwaite. The bar area is pleasant, featuring a 'Mousey Thompson' bar, bare floorboards and old pine tables, with comfortable leather settees around the stove. The pub offers a welcome R and R for walkers (provided muddy boots are removed). Guest beers are often from Rudgate and Yorkshire Dales.
