Wild Boar

Formerly a Buffs Club, the Wild Boar was opened by Wetherspoon's in 2011. Named after the Black Sabre Boar on the crest of former rector of Houghton, Bernard Gilpin. Comprising one large single bar with 10 handpulls. They are in 2 banks of 5 and some beers are duplicated. As well as regulars Abbott and Ruddles , there is usually an offering from local breweries . Quiz held every Monday night. Note the old photographs and paintings that decorate the walls, along with a large picture above the fireplace depicting the Houghton Feast.
