Formerly one of England's largest inland ports, the village of Shardlow is surrounded by water and now has a large and busy marina. Shardlow's numerous pubs (all with real ale), are well able to serve its many visitors. The Shakespeare is a traditional pub on the main road. The restaurant doubles as a function room. Motorhomes allowed overnight on the car park by prior arrangement.
