This 19th-century, three-storey corner-terrace, friendly locals pub, is close to the railway station. As virtually the Ind Coope Brewery tap, being situated opposite the former brewery, the erstwhile classic Ind Coope Draught Burton Ale was launched here in 1976. The interior comprises a fairly smart, long narrow single room with dark wood panelling and the bar counter down one side. There is a small concrete patio at the rear for outdoor drinking, plus a few tables and chairs outside at the front in summer. Food is limited to filled cobs at weekends.
