Attractive Tudor-style former coaching inn, parts of which date back to the 14th or 15th century (sources vary!). During the 18th-century, the inn was a stopping point for the famous Red Rover London-Liverpool stagecoach. An open plan bar layout serves a number of linked rooms with low, beamed ceilings. A la carte menu, plus specials and children's menu; bar snacks available to 6pm (not Sunday). Outdoor drinking on patio at rear.
