While an inn is believed to have been on this site for over 350 years, the current former coaching inn dates from around 1834, the year that the original Marston's brewery was founded in nearby Dover Road. Several small rooms and alcoves are served from an L-shaped bar, with low beamed ceilings throughout and numerous old artefacts on the walls. A book exchange is located at the side of the bar. Outdoor drinking area is limited to a patio at rear. Occasional live entertainment.
