Historic building, reputed to be the Ship in Dickens' Great Expectations. Located on the Saxon Shore Way, it is popular with walkers and sea anglers. There is an outside drinking area on the river wall with views of the river Thames. Inside there are pictures with a nautical theme. The three changing beers normally include at least one from a brewery in Kent, one national brand and a real cider. Advisable to book for the popular Sunday lunches. Occasional themed food nights: Wednesday steak, Friday fish.
