Originally, in the 18th century, ‘The Old Star’ was called The Starr. It subsequently became the ‘Old Star’ in the mid 19th century and remained so until 1969 when it was changed to the ‘Star Inn’, it then reverted back to being ‘The Old Star’ in the 1990s. Closed in 2009 and offered for sale. Bought in 2010 by present Licensee [and owner Ernie Welch], and carefully refurbished and reopened in May 2012.
