Red Lion

Opening hours

Pub has been sold, future uncertain. The building dates from the 17th century and the main bar divides naturally into two sections. One caters for the younger clientèle with pool table, table football, darts and Sky Sports on TV. At the opposite end is a comfortable lounge section leading to a well appointed dining room which can also be used for private functions. Lunches are served daily, but the 3-course Senior Citizens' special lunch, and evening meals, are by bookings only. The guest beer has for some time been Coach House Dick Turpin. There are afternoon tea dances once a month in the winter, and the pub is the destination for the occasional evening folk train from Manchester, when performers and passengers walk the short distance from the station to make music.
