The Harbour Inn was a former George Beer & Co, Fremlins pub-hotel until Fremlins was acquired by Whitbread, who already owned the former Mackeson True Britain pub next door. Both pubs having a long history associated with the sea and continental travellers prior to the closing of Folkestone harbour to passenger traffic
In 1987 the two buildings were combined renamed Old Harbour Crab and Oyster as part of the fish version of the Beefeater chain.
Renamed Harbour Inn when sold by Whitbread to a local restaurant owner before changing hands again in 2018 and now forms part of the 'Creative Quarter' near the bottom of the old High Street.
With a separate restaurant upstairs with views over the harbour it is popular with locals and visitors alike.
During winter months the pub may close early if there a no customers.
