This bar/restaurant was formerly the tap of the sizeable 1850-built Balmoral Hotel. When it lost its hotel functions in 1946, the rooms were let out and the tap becoming the Barmoral Bar. The Book and Gem shops next door were originally the hotel's dinning room while the public gardens opposite were the bar’s tea garden. It had a change of name in late 90’s and became a keg only pseudo-modern pub. After a change of ownership the bar saw it revert to its original name it became a vibrant Wine Bar with a secluded restaurant specialising in fish. A further name change in May 2018.
