The three storey site is located on part of the site of Hawkes Brewery founded in 1780, the building has been stripped back and refurbished but retains its amazing original features and character. Specialising in local food cooked the modern British way, it offers relaxed casual dining with an atmospheric cellar bar.
The cellar bar is a unique feature with an original brick vaulted ceiling and has been given an old brewery look with lots of copper piping and ambient atmospheric lighting. However this is currently closed undergoing refurbishment and when last opened was only open at busy evening times rather than at all times.
Both the main bar and cellar bar have offered real ale in the past but recent reports suggest real ale is no longer available at this venue.
