Excellent multi-roomed traditional inn on the main road on the edge of the River Dee Marshes. The oldest unchanged pub in Parkgate, dating from 1822, it is decorated throughout with beams and bric-a-brac. One central bar serves both the public bar and cosy lounge where panoramic views can be enjoyed towards Wales and the Dee Estuary. There is a large, attractive beer garden at the rear, The black & white photos show the pub in 1980 and 1983.
