Wheatsheaf Inn

An inn for 350 years, this is Wirral's oldest pub. The thatched building was rebuilt following a fire in 1611 and is reputed to be haunted by Charlotte, who died here. The walls are decorated with old photographs of Raby. The single bar serves three rooms and a restaurant in a converted cowshed. Lunch is served in the bar until 2pm then snacks until 5pm. The restaurant is open every evening from 6pm except Sunday and Monday. The black & white photo is from 1985.
