Built in 1846 this former hotel on the banks of the Mersey is near the old Eastham Ferry and next to the abandoned site of of a Victorian zoo which is now part of Eastham Country Park. Still popular with day trippers and walkers even without the ferry or the zoo. The pub is a large open plan area served by a central bar with the emphasis on food. Decor is a mixture of historical memorabilia and photographs and more modern furnishings and artwork.
