Goshawk

Opening hours

This upmarket pub is set in the Cheshire hills near Delamere Forest, directly opposite Mouldsworth’s small country railway station. It was taken over by JW Less in March 2019. It specializes in good quality food and drink (booking recommended), with expensive champagnes and wines complementing the ales. There are lots of different seating areas, each tastefully decorated with old pictures, photographs and books. Outside may be found a well equipped children’s play area and the pub’s own bowling green. This huge brick hilltop former coach house, dating from 1869, has two stylish lounges, a public bar and a restaurant and has plush carpeting throughout. The stone fireplace with its stout wooden lintel is a most attractive feature. There is also a floodlit bowling green used by two local teams. At the rear a children's play area is provided, along with a few seats with a commanding view of the surrounding countryside. The highly regarded meals and bar snacks are good value and served all day Sunday. Conveniently located opposite Mouldsworth railway station, it is easy to reach and is consequently a popular spot for walkers in the Delamere Forest and on the Sandstone Trail and users of the Cheshire Cycleway.
