Rumour has it Chester once had one pub for every day of the year, but we like to think we're the one that people prefer. Ours is the most popular pub name in the UK and we find we're pretty popular ourselves. Our characterful city-centre pub was built in around 1600 and its black and white Tudor-style façade has been welcoming visitors ever since. They say we have a haunted cellar, something to think about when we go down to change the barrels on our wide range of real ales.
