Up until early 2018 ago this pub did not sell any real ale, now it has one changing beer and a second handpump for future use. It won the local CAMRA branch's Bridgend County Most Improved Pub award in 2019. An L-shaped split level pub, it has two pool tables on the raised area. The stained glass windows on the entrance door depict when the pub was called the Railway, not surprising as the premises are right next to Pencoed station. The pub has pool and football teams. It can be crowded on Friday and Saturday nights.
