The University Arms is a grand hotel established in 1834. Parker's Tavern is its main public bar and looks out onto Parker's Piece (a popular open space in the town centre). Following an £80m refurbishment and partial rebuild of the hotel it reopened in summer 2018. As stylishly decorated and furnished as you'd expect. Essentially a brasserie serving breakfast (from 6:30), lunch, afternoon tea and dinner it is also possible to simply have a drink. Bottled beers (including one from city based Calverley's brewery) only.
