Crown

Opening hours

Corner bar, dating from 1840, transformed in the 1880's into a fine example of Victorian pub design. Some years ago the mosaic-tiled floor, yellow, red and gold painted ceiling, brocaded walls, granite-topped bar, snugs and woodwork were all restored to their former beauty. Pictures of the restoration can be seen on the pub's website. A masterpiece in pub architecture and a real ale delight. The six handpumps regularly serve Nicholson's Pale Ale, and a mixture of local and national ales. The guests vary. Most are from the M&B portfolio. The crown is a must-visit venue for visitors to Belfast. The freehold is owned by the National Trust, but leased to Nicholson's (Mitchell & Butlers).
