Merchants Arms

A traditional free of tie pub close to the Cumberland Basin waterfront selling mainly south-west cask conditioned ales. Two small rooms are furnished with dark wood seating having been recently refurbished after a car drove into the bar! There is a real log fire in the front room and a television in each for showing sports. A range of board games are available and occasional poetry nights feature. Its home-made scotch eggs, hand-finished pork pies and real Cornish pasties are well known and are complemented by a 'Thirsty Thursday' price promotion. There is a small free car park 50 metres behind the pub and access to the front has been improved with a new pedestrian crossing to the bus stop across the busy road.
