Just across the road from Clifton Down shopping centre, this pub was acquired by Butcombe Brewery in 2020 and is named in honour of the brewery's founder Simon Whitmore. It was formerly called the Penny and before that the Penny Farthing and reopened under its new name in May 2021 serving the full range of Butcombe beers and with new booth seating on the ground floor and a new restaurant and meeting room on the second floor. The building was originally a bank - look out for the door of the old bank vault downstairs.
