This interesting brick building has been a pub since 1903. Refurbished in 2015, the traditional interior has a horseshoe shaped bar, high ceilings, and much woodwork. There is a mix of furniture and a generally light and airy feel from the many large leaded windows. An open-to-view kitchen prepares meals from a varied menu using fresh local produce. Deals include burger and pint Tuesdays and steak and wine Thursdays. Roasts are served Sunday afternoons and in the evenings homemade pizzas. Real cider is available. Newspapers are provided on Sundays. Events include quizzes on Monday nights and occasional live music Major sporting events are shown on a large screen tv via BT. Parties can reserve the right-hand side of the pub, but there is no divider from the rest of the pub. The outside courtyard has several tables, some covered.
