A serial winner of CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year awards, including the national award in 2009, the Orchard also extends a warm welcome to beer drinkers. Nestled on a corner in Spike Island, this traditional and friendly pub is situated in a quiet spot close to the marina, just a short and pleasant harbourside stroll or ferry ride from the city centre. Up to six ales are available, either straight from the barrel behind the bar or fetched from the cellar, where they share space with up to 20 ciders and perries. Guest beers come from the likes of Bath Ales, Bristol Beer Factory and Box Steam, while the ciders regularly feature Wilkins, Rich's and Westcroft. Occasional sport is shown on TV in a raised area that doubles up as stage space (complete with piano) for live folk and blues. Rolls, pasties, scotch eggs and pork pies are available until they sell out.
